About
The story behind the blog
Growing up in survival mode doesn’t leave much room for dreaming. When home never truly feels like home, you begin to ache for something you can’t quite name. For years I thought I was searching for a place. Then, at 28 years old, I boarded my first international flight. Travel didn’t introduce me to another country-it introduced me to another version of myself. That journey to the Republic of Georgia awakened something I had never experienced before: wonder, curiosity, and longing to understand the world beyond my own. Since then, every adventure has reminded me that sometimes we’re not searching for a destination at all. Sometimes we’re simply searching for a place where our soul feels at home.
Forward & Fernweh was born from that realization.

Thoughts
My life isn’t about someone that always loved to travel. It’s about someone who spent years looking for home, only to discover that exploring the world helped me to understand where her home really was. MY little family.

Philosophy
Travel as a way of becoming
Forward & Fernweh believes the best journeys are not rushed. They unfold through long walks, unexpected conversations, quiet cafés, train windows, and the feeling of being gently changed by a place. The goal is not simply to arrive, but to notice more, feel more, and carry those moments home.

““The world is calling, and I want this space to answer with stories that are warm, curious, and beautifully human.””
